Groove is a free iOS workout tracker built by Force Codes. We believe your fitness data is personal, and we treat it that way. This Privacy Policy explains what information Groove collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

This policy applies to the Groove iOS app (available on the Apple App Store) and the Groove website at groove.is, including our free web-based strength calculators.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you use the Groove app, you may enter the following information:

  • Body weight and gender (used to calculate your strength rank)
  • Workout data, including exercises, sets, reps, and weights
  • Any preferences or settings you configure within the app

Information we do not collect

Groove does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect:

  • Your name, email address, or other contact information through the app
  • Health data from Apple HealthKit or any other health platform
  • Location data, device identifiers, or advertising IDs
  • Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data

We do not use any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs in the Groove app.

Website usage

The Groove website at groove.is hosts free strength calculators. These calculators run entirely in your browser. We do not collect, store, or transmit the data you enter into them.

3. How We Use Your Information

The workout data and body metrics you enter into Groove are used solely to power the app's features:

  • Logging and displaying your workouts, sets, reps, and weights
  • Calculating your estimated one-rep max (1RM) for each exercise
  • Determining your strength rank based on your body weight, gender, and performance
  • Tracking your progress over time

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond providing the app's core functionality.

4. Data Storage and Security

All workout data, body metrics, and preferences you enter into Groove are stored locally on your device. We do not operate servers that store your personal data, and your information is not transmitted over the internet by the app.

Because your data lives on your device, it is protected by the security measures you have in place, such as your device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.

We recommend keeping regular device backups through iCloud or your computer to prevent data loss.

5. Third-Party Services

Groove is distributed through the Apple App Store. When you download or update the app, Apple's own privacy policy and terms apply to that transaction.

Beyond the App Store, Groove does not integrate with or share your data with any third-party services, advertising networks, or analytics providers. We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to anyone.

6. Children's Privacy

Groove is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through our app, please contact us at hello@force.codes and we will take appropriate steps to address the situation.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes to how we handle your data, we will provide notice through the app or on our website.
